2023 Benefits Open Enrollment: May 15 - May 31

The Office of Human Resources is excited to announce that the 2023-2024 Benefits Open Enrollment begins May 15 and ends May 31.

Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to make changes to the benefits you have elected, unless you experience a life event (qualified status change). Open Enrollment is the best time to review your benefits elections, ensure that you have current dependents listed, confirm that your beneficiaries are up-to-date, and make changes to your elections.

Find all of the Open Enrollment information, including the Summary Guide to Benefits, online at openenroll.hr.pitt.edu.

What's New in 2023

Plan Changes for those who are not bargaining unit faculty members

Panther Plus and Panther Advocate plans have transitioned into one, new plan: Panther PPO. Any current members of the Panther Plus and Panther Advocate plans who opt not to make benefits selections during Open Enrollment will be automatically placed into the new Panther PPO plan for the 2023-24 term. If you feel that another plan would better suit your needs, you must make this selection during Open Enrollment.

Panther Gold has a reduction from $10 to $5 for Virtual Urgent Care and a $150/$300 deductible.

Basic Plan has a deductible of $2,000/$4,000.

Increased Incentives with Wellness for Life

You and your covered spouse and/or domestic partner, if applicable, are each eligible to earn up to $200 for individuals and $400 for spouses/domestic partners (covered by your insurance plan) toward a Health Incentive Account (HIA). This money gets put into a HIA account that you can use to cover the cost of certain medical and prescription expenses. The annual health care spending account limit for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) will increase to $3,050 and the parking and mass transportation accounts maximum annual contribution amounts will also increase to $3,600 per plan. These plans allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for things like health care, parking, and mass transportation. Learn about this new benefit.
