In collaboration with the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the Office of Human Resources is excited to share that all job applicants can now select from 13 gender identity options when completing an application for employment in Talent Center, the University’s recruiting and hiring system.
Previously, job applicants could only select their sex assigned at birth (Male, Female, or I do not wish to provide this information). With this change, applicants can now select from the following options:
- Agender
- Female/Woman
- Genderqueer
- Gender Fluid
- Gender Non-Conforming
- Intergender
- Intersex
- Male/Man
- Nonbinary
- Other
- Transgender
- Trans Man/Male
- Trans Woman/Female
- I do not wish to provide this information
These same options were previously already available in Pitt Worx for current employees. This step of including inclusive options on the employment application is an exciting but significant addition to the University’s commitment to ensuring that all members of our community feel safe, respected, and valued on campus.
