Spring Wellness Opportunities

It’s time to shake off those winter blues because spring is officially here! Springtime is all about giving yourself a fresh start and seizing the moment, and so are these wellness resources.

Keep your Respiratory Health in Check

Respiratory illnesses are on the rise and some of them can be mistaken for allergies, COVID-19, or even a common cold. Don’t risk it! Book an appointment with the MyHealth@Work Center in Pittsburgh or a clinic near you for a checkup to make sure it’s nothing more serious. Staying ahead of any health concerns before they get worse is the best way to make sure you get to enjoy all of these sunny days!

Mental Health Matters All Year

When living with Seasonal Affective Disorder, it’s easy to feel like you can put your mental health on the backburner now that winter is over. However, keeping a commitment to your mental wellness year-round can help you be ready to weather the storm when the time comes. Take advantage of some of the mindfulness and mental health resources on LifeSolutions or give them a call at 1-866-647-3432 to arrange counseling. Just like a garden, putting the work in today can lead to a brighter tomorrow!

Taking Care of Yourself Literally Pays Off

With the end of the benefit year rapidly approaching, it’s time to make sure you’ve gotten the most out of your wellness incentives. This optional program allows you to get financial rewards that you can use towards your health expenses. The best part? Most of the tasks are things you normally do throughout the year anyway, like flu shots, bloodwork (also known as a biometric screening), and annual exams. You get bigger rewards for going the extra mile, though; they offer a few activities that require more of your time but have a higher payout.

Care for Your Whole Family

The school year is almost over, and that means you’re probably thinking about who will care for your child over the summer. Not to worry—we have child and family care services to help you find the support you need whether that’s babysitters, summer camps, or just some good old-fashioned advice!

Learn a Little...or a Lot

Registration has begun for the Spring 2023 Faculty and Staff Development Program! These courses range from one-off workshops to certificate programs that you can complete at your own pace over several months. Remember: You are welcome to join all workshops even if you don’t want to complete the certificate program.

Eat Local!

The grass is getting greener and so can your diet! Farmers Markets are starting to pop up, including one on our Pittsburgh campus. Markets don’t fit your schedule? Consider signing up for grocery delivery through Harvie Farms—a Pittsburgh-based, CSA-inspired startup that brings your favorite foods from local farms and vendors right to your doorstep! Want to make a day of it? Farms like Soergel Orchards and Trax Farms not only sell their crops but are a great destination for the entire family.
