The following message was sent to University stakeholders on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, regarding changes to the Pitt Career and Talent Center websites due to the current Hiring Freeze:
Dear Colleagues:
As part of the commitment to only recruit and hire for essential or operationally critical positions during the hiring freeze, all current requisitions will be unposted from the career site this afternoon (excluding student employment). This will allow senior leadership to finalize the review of current requisitions.
Following the review, all staff, executive, labor union and temporary requisitions that were deemed essential or operationally critical will be reposted by the end of the day Monday, March 24. Faculty and other academic requisitions will take slightly longer, with a target of later that week for approved re-postings.
To ensure transparency for current and future applicants, we will include a holding message on join.pitt.edu explaining that, due to the hiring freeze, all open positions are under review, and applications are not currently being accepted.
On Monday, March 24, we will update this message to indicate that applications for listed positions are still being accepted.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Jason Killmeyer or Victoria Lancaster.
