The Office of Human Resources will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Recess from Thursday, November 23, 2023, through Friday, November 24, 2023.
The Office of Human Resources will be closed in observance of the University’s Winter Recess from Friday, December 22, 2023, through Monday, January 1, 2024.
OHR Customer Support during closures
To reach OHR throughout the Thanksgiving and Winter recess closures, please submit an online request.
During the Winter Recess, OHR representatives will monitor urgent messages/inquiries submitted via online request from Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29.
Benefits representatives can also be reached by submitting an online request and via telephone at 833-852-2210 on Friday, Nov. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from Monday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Benefits customer service will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Sunday, Dec. 24; Monday, Dec. 25; Sunday, Dec. 31; Monday, Jan. 1; and Monday, Jan. 15.
New Staff and All-Temps Information
Job Requisitions and Recruiting
Positions posted to the career site that are set to expire over the Winter Recess will be automatically extended through Jan. 31, 2024. If you do not wish to have the position posting extended, please contact OHR by Friday, Dec. 8, 2023.
All open positions that require Child Protection Clearances must have a start date on or after Jan. 8, 2024.
Orientation
The final new staff and All-Temps orientations of the calendar year takes place Monday, Dec. 18, 2023.
The first new staff and All-Temps orientations of 2024 take place on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024. There will be no All-Temps orientation on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024.

The UPMC MyHealth@Work Health and Wellness Center will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23; Friday, Nov. 24; Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26; and Monday, Jan. 1.

Davis Vision by Met Life Customer Service
The Davis Vision by Met Life Customer Service call center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Sunday, Dec. 24; Monday, Dec. 25; and Monday, Jan. 1.
Davis Vision by Met Life Customer Service will be open on Friday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
United Concordia Customer Service
United Concordia Customer Service will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Friday, Nov. 24; Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1.
TIAA
TIAA's customer service will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and will close early on Friday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. They will close early at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, and closed on Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1.
University Pension Center
The University Pension Center, which manages the defined benefit pension plan, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Monday, Dec. 25; Monday, Jan. 1; and Monday, Jan. 15 (for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).
The Hartford
The Hartford's customer service will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Friday, Nov. 24; Monday, Dec. 25; and Monday, Jan. 1.
Unum
Unum's customer service will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Friday, Nov. 24; and Monday, Dec. 25.
They will be open for their regular hours on Monday, Jan. 1.
MetLife Disability Call Center
MetLife's Disability Call Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Monday, Dec. 25; Sunday, Dec. 31; and Monday, Jan. 1.
They will be open on Monday, Jan. 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Corestream (PittPerks Customer Support)
Corestream, which administers customer support for PittPerks, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Friday, Nov. 24; Monday, Dec. 25 through Friday, Dec. 29; and Monday, Jan. 1.
Amplifon
Amplifon will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23; Friday, Nov. 24; Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26; and Monday, Jan. 1.
Care.com
Care.com customer service will continue to offer regular 24/7 support during Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.
