FAQs
What is the process for recruiting for Faculty positions?
Please review Procedure 02-02-15, Recruitment: Faculty and Academic/Executive Administrative Positions for the complete description of all tasks and responsibilities.
How do I post Faculty and Research Associate positions on the University's Faculty website?
After a department receives approval from senior management to initiate a search for an open position, a Pre-Audit Search Form and a recommended job posting/advertisement must be submitted to the Office of Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion (OAADI) for review and approval in order to advertise on the University's Faculty website.
How often are Faculty openings updated on the University's Faculty website?
Faculty positions are posted and updated daily.
Which form is completed once a department makes a Faculty hiring decision?
The department must complete the Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion Summary for Proposed Faculty or Academic Appointment Form, which captures information on the selected candidate and the finalists for the position.
Do all candidates that apply for Faculty positions receive an Equal Employment Opportunity Information Request Form?
Departments must send an Equal Employment Opportunity Information Request Form and OAADI addressed return envelope to all applicants that meet the minimum position requirements. The University of Pittsburgh issues this request in compliance with Federal law, however the submission of this form by the applicant is voluntary.
Where do I get the Pre-Audit Search Forms, Summary for Proposed Faculty or Academic Appointment Forms, EEO Request Forms and return envelopes?
In addition to the links above, departments may request forms and envelopes by calling 412-648-7860 or emailing OAADI at mfr9@pitt.edu.
