UPMC Health Plan will extend benefits to an employee’s child, as required by any Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO), as defined in ERISA, and your benefit elections will automatically be changed to reflect the QMCSO coverage. UPMC Health Plan has detailed procedures for determining whether a court order qualifies as a QMSCO. Participants and beneficiaries can obtain, free of charge, a copy of such procedures from the Office of Human Resources Benefits Department.
