Under the above federal law, the University of Pittsburgh Health and Welfare Plan will not require, request, or purchase anyone’s genetic information before enrollment or use such information to determine eligibility for enrollment or continued coverage, to impose pre-existing condition exclusions, to vary individual group premiums or contribution rates, or to conduct certain Plan-sponsor-related activities, unless allowed under such law.

When released by the federal government, a statutory notice regarding the applicable provisions of this law will be posted to our website (described in the Prescription Drug Notice of Creditable Coverage Section of this Guide).
